Copper engraving, hand colored in outline and wash. A fine decorative engraved map of the ,Holy Roman Empire', published by the famous cartographer family Nicolaus Visscher in Amsterdam around 1680-90. The Holy Roman Empire is shown with its duchies, principalities and kingdoms with detailed political borders in outline and wash hand color. With many engraved place names, villages, castles rivers, mountains, woods, etc. The map was compiled by Julius Reichelt, adviser and mathematician professor at Straßburg and engraved and published at Nicolaus Visscher in Amsterdam.
