Article description
Original color lithograph by Pol Bury, titled 'Deux Traits I' (Two Lines I), hand-signed 'Pol Bury' within the image and numbered 34/75 in pencil. Published by Galerie Maeght, Paris, 1970. Sheet: 76 × 55.3 cm (30 × 21.75 in). A refined kinetic-abstract composition by one of the key figures of the CoBrA movement and European kinetic art. Pol Bury (1922 Haine-Saint-Pierre, Belgium – 2005 Paris) began his career as a painter within the Belgian CoBrA group before becoming one of the foremost kinetic sculptors of the 20th century. His work is held in major international collections including the Centre Pompidou, the Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris, and the Guggenheim Museum. 'Deux Traits I' (Two Lines I, 1970) is a characteristic example of Bury's graphic work in which the apparent simplicity of the composition conceals a subtle visual tension, evoking the slow, hypnotic movement for which his sculpture is famous. Published by the prestigious Galerie Maeght in Paris in a small edition of 75, each print hand-signed in pencil and within the image by the artist. Sheet size: 76 × 55.3 cm. In excellent condition. Colors vivid. No tears, creases, or foxing. Ready to frame.Pol Bury – Deux Traits I · Original Signed Color Lithograph, Numbered 34/75 · Galerie Maeght Paris · 1970
