Article description
Original lithograph by Pol Bury, titled 'Rouge', hand-signed 'Pol Bury' and numbered 35/75 in pencil. Published by Galerie Maeght, Paris, 1969. Sheet: 76 × 55.3 cm (30 × 21.75 in). A rare and intimate work by a key figure of European kinetic art and the CoBrA movement, published by the most prestigious print publisher of its era. Pol Bury (1922 Haine-Saint-Pierre, Belgium – 2005 Paris) is celebrated as one of the pioneers of kinetic art — art that incorporates or evokes movement. After an early period as a CoBrA painter, Bury developed his distinctive vocabulary of slowly moving spheres, cylinders and lines, creating works of meditative, almost hypnotic power. His prints, produced in close collaboration with the Galerie Maeght in Paris, bring this same quality of animated tension to the graphic medium. 'Rouge' (1969) presents Bury's refined abstract language in a restrained palette centred on red, conveying the visual rhythm and quiet dynamism of his kinetic sculptures. Published by Galerie Maeght in an edition of only 75, hand-signed in pencil. Sheet size: 76 × 55.3 cm. In excellent condition. Colors vivid. No tears, creases, or foxing. Ready to frame.Pol Bury – Rouge · Original Signed Lithograph, Numbered 35/75 · Galerie Maeght Paris · 1969
