Jerusalem inside the city wall can be seen in the background. In between a hilly landscape with meadows and trees. Friedrich Perlberg was the son of the painter Georg Christian Perlberg (1806–1884). He studied from 1868 to 1875 he studied architecture and landscape painting at the school of applied arts in Nürnberg and Paris. His main place of work was in Munich, however also in Italy, Spain and and especially in the Orient.
