With many engraved place names, rivers, lakes, mountains and other details. Decorated with a large floral and allegoric title cartouche in the upper right corner, further a mileage scale in the upper left corner. The map is very detailed engraved. The ,Atlas Nouveau ...' was commissioned for the French king Louis XIV. The work took over 10 years until the atlas was completed. The maps are still today regarded as a masterpiece of thr French cartography of the late 17th century.
