Article description
Original three-layer color screenprint by Daniel Spoerri, die-cut, hand-signed and numbered 19/200. Published by Art Zandern, Cologne, 1980. 67 × 49 cm (26.4 × 19.3 in). A rare, collectible work by a founding figure of Nouveau Réalisme and the international avant-garde. Daniel Spoerri (1930 Galați – 2024) was one of the most inventive figures of the post-war European avant-garde. A co-founder of Nouveau Réalisme (alongside Yves Klein and Jean Tinguely, 1960) and closely associated with Fluxus, he pioneered the concept of art 'multiples' and the celebrated 'Snare-Picture' assemblages. From 1978 to 1982 he was Professor at the Cologne Werkschulen, making this work a key document of his Cologne period. This original screenprint – titled 'Collage (Ohne Titel)' – is a three-layer, three-color silkscreen in a die-cut technique that gives the work a distinctive sculptural quality characteristic of Spoerri's exploration of the everyday object and its transformation. Published by Art Zandern, Cologne, 1980. Hand-signed in pencil and numbered 19/200 by the artist. Sheet size: 67 × 49 cm (26.4 × 19.3 in). In excellent condition. Colors vivid and unfaded. No tears, creases, or foxing. Ready to frame.
