Article description
Original screenprint in moss green colorway by Sir Eduardo Luigi Paolozzi, signed in pencil and numbered 2249/3000. Dry stamp of Galerie Dorothea Leonhart, Munich, in the lower left corner. Printed and published 1971 in Munich. Sheet: 85 × 59.7 cm (33.5 × 23.5 in). Part of the iconic 'Bash' series — one of the defining Pop Art screenprints of the 1970s. Sir Eduardo Paolozzi (1924 Leith, Scotland – 2005 London) is widely recognised as one of the founding fathers of Pop Art, pre-empting the American movement with his collage work of the late 1940s and 1950s. A central figure of the Independent Group in London, Paolozzi's screenprints are held in major collections including the Tate, the V&A, and the Yale University Art Gallery. The title 'Bash' stands for 'Baroque All Style High'. Produced in five colorways at Advanced Graphics, London, and published by Galerie Dorothea Leonhart, Munich, 1971, edition of 3000. The moss green variant is noted for the cool, earthy palette that brings out the textural complexity of Paolozzi's mechanised collage imagery. Each print carries the gallery's dry stamp and is hand-signed and numbered in pencil. Sheet size: 85 × 59.7 cm. In excellent condition. Colors vivid and bright. No tears, creases, or foxing. Ready to frame.Eduardo Paolozzi – Bash (Moss Green) · Original Signed Screenprint, Numbered 2249/3000 · Galerie Dorothea Leonhart Munich · 1971
