An attractive and historically significant 19th-century map for the discerning collector. Tranquillo Maria Laurentio Mollo (1767–1837) was a Vienna-based Swiss-Italian graphic designer, printer, art and music dealer, and publisher. Active in Vienna during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Mollo published maps, prints, and music, including works by Beethoven and Haydn. His maps of the Italian peninsula were produced during a period of intense geopolitical change—spanning the Napoleonic wars and the Congress of Vienna—and reflect the evolving political boundaries of the era. Mollo's maps combine scientific detail with attractive hand coloring typical of the Viennese publishing tradition.
