Large color lithograph, published folded in Verve in December 1952 in Paris.. This lithograph,La Tristesse du roi' of Henri Matisse was originally created in 1952 by the artist as an oversize guache on paper. Then it was published in December 1952 as a folded lithograph in the fine art magazine Verve Teriade. It bears the printed signature in the lower right corner. The lithograph was published folded and has stich-holes from the former binding in the centre.
