Copper engraving, uncolored as published in Wouter Schoutens ,Reys-Togten naar en door Oost-Indien ...', Andries van Damme, Amsterdam, 1708. This fine engraving depicted is the conquest of Makasar (Mackasser) in Indonesia, South Sulawesi in June/July 1660. The view shows ships of the Dutch West Indies Company, in the background canoes and fortress of Ioupandan and Pannakoke. Armed ships are bombarding the the town Makasar and other ships of the Dutch West Indies Company are attacking the fortress of Pannakoke.
