Article description
Pamphlet, copper engraving with two-column type printing. Gorgeous illustrated pamphlet printed for the coronation of King Ferdinand IV and printed in 1653 by Paulus Fürst in Nuremberg. The pamphlet shows the Habsburg double eagle with two necks and heads, in between hovers the crown of the Rudolphine house. Right and left in the outstretched wings the coat of arms of the electors: Kurböhmen (Ferdinand IV), Kurmainz (Count Phillipp of Schönborn), Kurköln (Archbishop Maximilian Henry of Bavaria); 4 heraldic shields and a sword on both wings, within the wings the coronation scene on June 18th, 1654 In the background the city of Regensburg is seen from the north. Underneath is the descriptive text of the pamphlet surrounded by a beautiful border.
