Guglielmo Mayer was an Italian cartographer active in the early 19th century, known for producing maps of the Italian peninsula dedicated to the Papal authorities. His map of Italy, produced in 1816 and dedicated to Pope Pius VII, reflects the post-Napoleonic political reorganization of the peninsula following the Congress of Vienna. It is a historically significant document of the Restoration period in Italy. A beautiful, rare and handsome map depicting Italy published in 1816 in Rome and dedicated to pope Pius VII. Equipped with three inset maps 'Italia Antica', a statistic table of post routes through Italy and a map of Italy showing it in the period 1791- 1812 divided up into the various principalities.
