Jean-Nicolas Buache (1741–1825) was a French cartographer and geographer who succeeded his uncle Philippe Buache as First Geographer to the King of France. He produced maps and atlases in Paris in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, incorporating the latest discoveries from French and international expeditions. His geographical atlas of New Hampshire represents an early French cartographic record of the American states in the post-revolutionary period, published at a time of intense European interest in the newly independent United States.
