Copper-engraving, handcolored in outline, published in Blaeu's 'Atlas Major' around 1650-60. Decorative map of the sixth Chinese province 'Suchuen', ornated with the typical high decorative ornated title cartouche together with and a cartouche with an ornated mileage scale. The map itself covers the province Suchuen. In the centre of the map we find the following larger cities Mahu, Siucheu, Chungking, Chingtu, Xunking, Paoning, as well an enormous amount of other small place names. Rivers, lakes, mountains are as well engraved. At the lower left side is an engraved explanation for cities and villages, rivers, lakes, fortresses, etc. Recently viewed products
