Copper engraving, hand colored in outline and wash when published. A large and detailed map of the East Indies printed from two engraved plates. Depicted are the East Indies after the newest astronomic observations by Johann Christoph Matthias Reinecke, who was a German polymath known for contributions to cartography and paleontology. He newly designed and corrected the map after the last division of the Mysorian Empire. With many engraved place names, rivers, lakes, mountains and as well engraved inscribed names of populations in India and neighboring countries.
