The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge (S.D.U.K.) was a British educational society founded in 1826 under the patronage of Lord Brougham. The Society published the highly regarded 'Maps of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge' series (1830s–1840s), produced in London by Charles Knight and published by Baldwin & Cradock. Engraved by the most skilled English engravers of the period and featuring meticulous topographic detail, these maps set a new standard for popular geographic education.
