Original handkolorierter Kupferstich. Erschienen um 1613 in dem berühmten großen Blumenbuch „Hortus Eystettensis" in Altdorf und Nürnberg. In 367 Kupferstichen fängt diese prachtvolle Sammlung die Blumen des Schlossgartens von Eichstätt in Bayern ein, der zu den schönsten Gärten aller Zeiten gehörte. Die Illustrationen sind nach Jahreszeiten angeordnet und stellen – dem heute gebräuchlichen Klassifikationsschema folgend – Pflanzen aus insgesamt 90 Familien dar, verteilt auf 340 Gattungen. Beslers Buch zählt zu den kostbarsten Schätzen der botanischen Literatur.
