Original antique hand-colored lithograph, published 1844. Depicting Milan & Lombardy, this map is a fine example of 0s European cartography. Image: 185 by 255mm (7 by 10 inches). An attractive and historically significant 19th-century map for the discerning collector. R. Gross was a German cartographer active in the mid-19th century, known for producing detailed city plans published in 1844. His plans of Livorno and Milan are careful surveys reflecting the topographic and administrative organization of these Italian cities in the pre-Unification period. Fine and decorative small plan of Milano, engraved with many details and equipped with an extensive table of explanations. A fine example from published Leipzig, sought after by collectors of antique maps of Italy, antique maps of Milan, and antique hand-colored lithographs for sale. In good condition. Colors well-preserved.
